Welcome, everyone! With the arrival of Jurassic World Alive update 3.12, it’s time to dive into our latest tier list. As always, we’ll be focusing on the creatures that dominate the arena. Some familiar faces are still holding strong, while others have made their way up or down the ranks. Plus, with new additions, the meta is evolving rapidly. Let’s break it down and see who’s at the top of the food chain this time around.

HIGH TYRANT- The Best of the Best
We start with the High Tyrant tier, the absolute best dinosaurs in Jurassic World Alive. These creatures are meta-defining and will be in most top teams now or when players have them team ready.

Gryganyth. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.6
This creature continues to hold its place in the High Tyrant category. With every new tier list, it finds yet another reason for being here. This time, it’s because of the newer meta that has been showing up on most teams. Gryganyth now has the opportunity to counter Ampelorex and Mastodonsaurus, and it can also revenge kill Spinotops, while still defeating all the opponents it could previously.
Additionally, many of the cunning creatures that used to do well against Gryganyth have dropped in viability due to the arrival of the three major threats mentioned earlier. This shift has helped it remain at the top despite the constant evolution of the meta.
Rajadorixis. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.7
Rajadorixis is our next High Tyrant, though it has fallen slightly in effectiveness with the rise of Ampelorex, Mastodonsaurus, and now Spinotops dominating the arena. While still an extremely strong contender, it faces tougher matchups than before.
That said, Rajadorixis remains one of the most dangerous creatures in Jurassic World Alive thanks to its powerful reactive ability. This reactive not only enhances its survivability but also allows it to counter some of the top threats. Fully enhanced, Rajadorixis can still take on many strong opponents, including Trykovenator and even Alankydactylus, but it now has a harder time against the new meta-dominating creatures.
Ampelorex. Unique hybrid. Release version 3.11
Ampelorex has cemented itself as one of the most feared creatures in the arena, standing tall among the High Tyrants. Its sheer offensive power, combined with its ability to control the battlefield, make it a formidable force against nearly every creature it faces.
In a head-to-head situation, almost all of its counters require either precise timing or favorable RNG to pull off a win. Gryganyth is one of the few that can consistently handle it, but even then, Ampelorex has the option to swap out and maintain control. While its lack of speed and swap prevention resistance make it vulnerable to revenge killers, its ability to counter flocks and several other key creatures at any turn gives it an undeniable presence at the top of the meta. Ampelorex isn’t just surviving in the current meta—it’s thriving.
Mastodonsaurus. Omega. Release version 3.11
Mastodonsaurus was mentioned in the last tier list, but we didn’t have much time to test it. After extensive testing, it has certainly earned a spot in High Tyrant proving how dominant it is. With its bulk, strong offensive output, and resilience against many of the current meta threats, Mastodonsaurus has cemented itself as a top-tier powerhouse. It performs exceptionally well against a variety of creatures, making it one of the most versatile and powerful picks in the game right now.
Spinotops. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.12
The newest addition to High Tyrant, Spinotops, may possess one of the best moves in the game currently. It's Group Ferocious Charge gives it immense power and presence, though the extended cooldown on this move is what keeps it from being outright broken.
Spinotops' main challenge comes after Turn 1, where bulkier creatures can give it trouble. However, it still has a 50/50 chance to swap and return against creatures attempting to swap-prevent it. This flexibility makes it incredibly dangerous. On top of that, Spinotops can win matches outright against much of the old meta and even a significant portion of the new meta, depending on turn order and head-to-head interactions. This level of dominance secures its place among the top creatures in the game right now.
MID TYRANT – Strong but Balanced
The middle section of our Jurassic World Alive tier list is somewhat crowded, which likely indicates a good balance for the game. This suggests that most of our top creatures are fairly balanced. The creatures are not listed in any specific order, so don't give too much importance into the time they're mentioned.

Alankydactylus. Apex hybrid flock. Release version 3.9
This creature has lost quite a bit of its utility with the recent changes to the meta. The current influx of bulk to the arena and multiple group attackers has definitely forced Alankydactylus down a tier. The nerf didn’t do it any favors, but it honestly isn’t the reason for it dropping. All of the High Tyrants can just punish it.
Compsovenator. Apex hybrid flock. Release version 3.7
Compsovenator is no longer as dominant and encounters similar challenges as Alankydactylus. The emergence of the three newer High Tyrants, along with numerous bulk and group attackers, has significantly altered the meta. Essentially, flocks are once again becoming less relevant. Although Compsovenator can still be powerful in certain scenarios, its viability has decreased significantly compared to earlier tier lists.
Cerastegotops. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.8
Cerastegotops' stock has remained the same since the last tier list. It is still one of the most versatile creatures in the game and fits into many team compositions. While it has the potential to beat certain creatures like Ampelorex, it requires favorable RNG to do so. This reliance on RNG and the introduction of newer, more dominant creatures has made it a bit easier to play around. Swapping into a mirror matchup essentially nullifies its strengths while also making it less effective for later use. Despite these issues, it remains a solid choice in Mid Tyrant.
Monolomoth. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.10
Monolomoth remains a solid Mid Tyrant. It isn’t close to High Tyrant, but it holds its own in the current meta. While Monolomoth doesn’t outright dominate, it does well against several top Apex creatures, often serving as a reliable revenge killer or severely injuring them before going down. Its ability to apply pressure in a variety of matchups makes it a strong but balanced option in Mid Tyrant.
Trykovenator. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.8
Trykovenator is still in Mid Tyrant, but only because of the need for decent fierce creatures to counter four of the top High Tyrants and the ability to swap-prevent them. It has been largely relegated to a revenge killer role against these creatures, which reduces its overall versatility but preserves an essential role in the current meta.
Magnaraptor. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.5
Magnaraptor's stock has actually climbed since the last tier list. Its fierce qualities make it particularly useful for revenge killing Ampelorex and Mastodonsaurus, two of the most dominant High Tyrants. Its effectiveness has only increased in the shifting meta. Higher HP builds are generally more effective now, allowing it to better handle multiple hits and sustain its presence on the battlefield longer. This durability has made it an even more viable option for Mid Tyrant status.
Nominrex. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.9
Nominrex has taken a slight hit in the current meta due to the influx of tanky, shielding creatures, which make it harder to consistently land big damage. However, its swap-in remains one of the best tools in the game, allowing it to pressure opponents while setting up revenge kills. It still has good synergy with its swap-in, counter, and subsequent powerful instant rampage, while offering cunning traits that can check some of the top-tier threats. Although it's no longer as dominant as it once was, Nominrex remains a strong and useful Mid Tyrant.
Glyptosavis. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.8
This creature is another exclusive revenge killer. It needs speed to be able to take full advantage of its next turn after using Vengeful Ferocious Charge. I set its speed to 127 so it can easily revenge kill creatures like Rajadorixis. Then, it's set up to one-shot creatures like Gryganyth and Cerastegotops with Alert Vestigial Devour Rampage. This one-two punch will surely make your opponent think twice the next time they face Glyptosavis. However, it has been somewhat sidelined due to limited space for its abilities in many team compositions. Still, it remains a great team player and a strong revenge killer with big play potential.
Tyrannodactylus. Unique hybrid. Release version 3.10
Tyrannodactylus remains a well-rounded Mid Tyrant with strong head-to-head matchups against many creatures in this tier. It fits well into multiple roles, whether as a starter, closer, revenge killer, or swap-in. Having two priority attacks gives Tyrannodactylus a lot of versatility and allows it to control tempo effectively. However, it still struggles against Rajadorixis and has difficulty dealing with bleeders due to its lack of cleansing abilities. Additionally, its reliance on dodge in some matchups adds an element of unpredictability to its performance. Despite these drawbacks, it continues to be a solid option in Mid Tyrant.
Eremocanis. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.11
A newcomer since the last tier list, Eremocanis has made an immediate impact with one of the most well-rounded swap-in moves in the game. Dodge, stun, distraction—this creature brings it all. Pair that with its on-escape ability, and it becomes a strong counter to creatures that rely on cycling through their team. The ability to swap in with minimal risk and maximum disruption makes it a fantastic tactical choice, especially when anticipating an opponent’s swap.
Beyond its swap-in potential, Slothful Vulnerable Impact may be one of the best Act Last abilities in the game. The ability to apply vulnerability with a strong delayed attack means Eremocanis not only weakens its targets but also sets up favorable follow-up plays. This combination of disruption, survivability, and strategic flexibility secures its place among the top Mid Tyrants.
Protonodon. Unique hybrid. Release version 3.8
Protonodon has moved up from Low Tyrant for the same reason that Trykovenator remains in Mid Tyrant- we need good fierce options. Its ability to take on some of the top threats, (particularly having a chance to beat Spinotops and being a decent revenge killer against Mastodonsaurus when boosts come into play), is a significant deal.
Protonodon being a better pick over its Apex counterpart, Proto Lux, highlights the need for changes in that creature. While Protonodon may not be the flashiest creature in the tier, its effectiveness in handling key threats ensures its placement among the Mid Tyrants.
LOW TYRANT – Great but Outclassed
Low Tyrant creatures are still solid, but they’re generally outclassed by higher-tier options. These creatures are still worth using, but they might struggle to keep up with the top-tier threats.

Dilozorion. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.11
Dilozorion has taken a significant fall from Mid Tyrant due to the ever-growing bulk in the arena. While it still has moments of brilliance— particularly in its ability to revenge kill Spinotops after Group Ferocious Charge is used — it struggles to maintain dominance. One of this creature's biggest downfalls is its On-Escape ability, which lacks the punishing power needed to deter opponents from swapping out freely. As a result, Dilozorion often finds itself unable to fully capitalize on its strengths. It’s unfortunate because this apex barely had a chance to shine in the meta before it was overshadowed. Hopefully, Ludia recognizes this and gives it a well-deserved buff in the near future.
Sah Panthera. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.4
Sah Panthera still has its moments, but it gets beaten even worse now than before. It has also gained three additional hard counters with the arrival of the new High Tyrants, making this apex's matchups even more difficult. It continues to function as a revenge killer and can occasionally succeed, but it is often swapped on or easily killed after a simple takedown. While investment will keep Sah Panthera on some teams, its overall effectiveness has dropped considerably.
Megalocevia. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.6
Megalocevia has fallen quite a bit and is barely hanging onto Low Tyrant. Once seen as a rising force, its viability has been steadily chipped away by the changing meta. While Megalocevia still has some utility against certain bulky creatures, it struggles to find consistent success in battle. Its matchups are increasingly disadvantageous, making it harder to justify a spot on most teams. Nevertheless, it can still secure victories in certain situations, but it is no longer a top option.
Draco Lux. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.4
This creature has not aged well. It’s not bad by any means, but it’s very predictable and easy to counter. Draco Lux's niche is shrinking with every update. That being said, it still has a role to play on some teams as a swap-in damage dealer. This hybrid does gain a small bit of traction due to its ability to stun a few of the top creatures, giving it some occasional value. However, it has become even more unreliable now, making it a challenging choice for most teams.
Concatoloch. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.4
This apex has fallen quite hard from the powerful position it once had. Concatoloch is no longer a dominant force but still manages to hold its own in a team of eight. It is far from a top option and is more of a situational creature or a sacrifice lead now to set up another team member. While Concatoloch can still perform well in certain matchups, it is no longer a must-have in competitive play.
Concatosaurus. Unique hybrid. Release version 3.3
Concatosaurus has lost its title as the top Unique and isn’t even a top-three Unique anymore. Times have changed rapidly, and this once-dominant creature now struggles to keep up with the evolving meta. While Concatosaurus still finds its place in some teams, its reliability has taken a major hit. This unique lacks the consistency needed to be a priority pick. It is now more of a niche choice rather than a staple.
Proto Lux. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.10
Proto Lux has continued to decline in the meta and is now performing worse than its Unique parent, Protonodon. Despite being an Apex, it struggles to find meaningful advantages over its predecessor. It lacks the durability and versatility needed to handle the current powerhouses in the arena. While Proto Lux can still win a few key matchups, its overall usability is low. Another priority attack or improved bulk could help, but for now, it remains in a rough spot.
Indochicyon. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.9
Indochicyon has recently gained some traction, thanks in large part to its strong performance against two of the most dominant High Tyrants— Spinotops and Mastodonsaurus. Being one of the few reliable counters to Spinotops alone gives it valuable utility in the current meta. While Indochicyon still sits in Low Tyrant for now, its ability to handle key threats could push it higher with more time and testing. It may not be fully refined yet, but its potential is starting to show.
Plateorex. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.5
This creature could be great with a revenge move like Revenge Skirmish, or even just better resistances. Plateorex does have some utility right now, particularly being able to swap into Spinotops and Alankydactylus at times. But its biggest issue by far is Gryganyth. That matchup makes Plateorex completely vulnerable and often turns it into a liability. Until those weaknesses are addressed, this creature will remain just outside the ranks of more dependable Tyrants.
Skoonametrodon. Apex hybrid. Release version 3.3
Skoonametrodon’s shift to a fierce-first identity has helped its stock rise, giving it a better role in the current meta. However, this apex's core issue remains the same— without a solid On-Escape ability or a way to force opponents to stay in battle, it struggles to maintain control. More often than not, Skoonametrodon gets a single attack off before the opponent swaps away, or worse, an instant swap into Nominrex completely negates its presence on the field. While Skoonametrodon has potential, its lack of consistent impact keeps it in Low Tyrant for now.
Remember! PLAY THE GAME AS YOU LIKE
Done! The Tyrant Tier List for Jurassic World Alive as of update 3.12. We hope you enjoyed it and it helps you. We plan on updating the tier list as frequently as possible here on the blog and over at IDGT902 Youtube. Please remember that overall, this list is just a guide. It by no means should make you feel a need to change your current creatures. So- What works for you is what you should continue with. Just because a creature falls now doesn't mean it can't climb back up again later. With a steady influx of Apex coming to the game, we're sure we will constantly see change coming to the meta- with creatures coming on and off of teams or climbing and falling off this list.
Don't chase the meta unless you want to as you will get overwhelmed quickly. Just work towards what is easily available or what you like or want.

Crazy how it’s been almost ten updates and Skoonametrodon can still compete in arena.
Gotta love Gryganyth standing strong throughout its many many moons in the arena. I expected Spinotops to be all the way up there but I can see why with it's rocky turn one and inability to deal with flocks after it uses GFC. Recuperating Brace is extremely broken with a CD of 1 though.
Thank you! Perfect breakdown and explanation of which abilities are best against others on the list.
Can we expect an updated unique list soon and possibly a new legendary list (without breakdown for each.. that would be a lot). Would definitely be useful for tournaments.
Good tier list IDGT. It’s interesting to see how some of the older dinos are holding their ground while some others not so much. I really like Mastodonsaurus and am glad I can use it in the higher arena (when I get there 😂).
Good breakdown. Definitely helps. TY.
