Top of the Tier List. These are the best of the best in the arena as of Update 3.9- the Tyrants.

Jurassic World Alive's Best Creature Rankings. See it on IDGT902 YouTube here: https://youtu.be/3Ifi9JxIfps

BEST IN THE ARENA

This tier list focuses on the best creatures to use in the arena. The Top of the Tier list in Jurassic World Alive is the Tyrant tier. It is broken down into three distinct levels- high tyrant, mid tyrant, and low tyrant. With so many changes to the meta since the last time we made a list (June 2024- Version 3.6) we figured now was a good time to update it. Also, there's currently a slight pause in any change to the meta with the misses of Glyptosavis and Indochicyon. These two Apex hybrids are not making any impact to the tyrant tier in Jurassic World Alive. We know more creatures will come, but it takes time to see what changes to the meta develop from them.

Here they are, the Tyrants of Jurassic World Alive:

HIGH TYRANT

We start with the High tyrant tier, the absolute best dinosaurs in Jurassic World Alive. These creatures are must haves and will eventually be on every top team.

ALANKYDACTYLUS Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.9

Alankydactylus has now taken over the arena and is pretty much sitting atop the tier list. Alankydactylus has a lot of versatility. It was powerful upon inception, but now that Ludia has made Dragons Breath a rally heal, it has become one of the best creatures in the game. It is able to beat Compsovenator, Rajadorixis, MagnaRaptor, Sah Panthera, and even Cerastegotops in some scenarios.

GRYGANYTH Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.6

Gryganyth is next on the High Tyrant list. It was here on the prior top of the tier list and still remains. It is the one hard counter to Alankydactylus now, even being able to swap in & beat it. This alone keeps Gryganyth in the number two spot of our tier list.

COMPSOVENATOR Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.7

After the most recent creatures added, specifically Alankydactylus and Cerastegotops, Compsovenator is no longer competing for that top spot. It is still a great creature and can definitely wreck a match. But it has two counters that can swap in and beat it (Alankydactylus and Cerastegotops).

CERASTEGOTOPS Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.8

Cerastegotops is one of the most versatile creatures currently, next to Alankydactylus. It can win the head to heads and is an amazing swap-in that can certainly bail you out against many other creatures of the tyrant tiers. It's also almost impossible to swap on Cerastegotops and win, similar to what Sah Panthera had before this creature was introduced.

RAJADORIXIS Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.7

Even though Alankydactylus can often beat Rajadorixis & be back to close to full health, Rajadorixis still does well against most mid tyrants and can beat four of the five high tyrants including itself. Its place is on high tyrant.

MID TYRANT

The Mid tyrants are the next best dinosaurs. These creatures will fill the remaining spots in some variations to make up a top team of 8.

MEGALOCEVIA Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.6

The recent changes to Megalocevia have turned it from a pretender to a contender. It no longer needs to fear the auto swap to Gryganyth, which was its biggest downfall. Megalocevia is also able to beat more than half of the meta now. This has certainly improved its usage and quite honestly contributed to pushing two Apexes out of the high tyrant tier.

DRACO LUX Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.4

Draco Lux is our next mid tyrant. Draco Lux is still Draco Lux. Its the RNG gambler. Although with the recent additions of Rajadorixis and now Alankydactylus, this RNG has dropped significantly. This Apex still has (probably) the best swap-in in the game and the best Turn 1. Which is why it will remain on our top 8 for now. We don't see Draco Lux dropping from teams with the flock problem we have now. But who knows what the future will bring?...

MAGNARAPTOR Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.5

Apex Magnaraptor has dropped down from the High Tyrant tier. Both Sah Panthera and Magnaraptor have significantly fallen with the introduction of these newer Apex. They're no longer top of the meta. Very solid Mid tyrant, but we don't see them remaining on teams with the current creatures that are here. Maybe things change again when more Apex are introduced? But- Magnaraptor has suffered to flocks. The two new flocks in the game do Magnaraptor's job, and they do it better. These flocks both also make Magnaraptor significantly worse. While Magnaraptor still has a use to counter Gryganyth and Trykovenator, these match-ups depend on turn and boosts. Overall, Magnaraptor just has too many counters in the current meta, losing to Cerastegotops, Compsovenator, Alankydactylus, Rajadorixis, and Megalocevia.

SAH PANTHERA Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.4

Sah Panthera has also fallen down to mid tyrant tier. It was once one of the most dominant Apex and an easy shoo-in for high tyrant in the arena. But, Sah Panthera has dropped a bit. Almost all of the top five high tyrants can win against Sah Panthera. It's also no longer safe from swaps because of its OE hunt. With Rajadorixis and Trykovenator removing its chance to swap out or punishing the swap, it's also risky to use it now as a closer. Sah Panthera is still quite good and will remain in Mid tyrant for now, as it is a solid lead and amazing revenge killer. But Sah Panthera's days could be numbered. We'll see what happens with future apex releases.

TRYKOVENATOR Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.8

The newest creatures of Jurassic World Alive have also given a buff to one Apex that was not used much. Trykovenator has had some movement with these recent additions. It is able to counter Compsovenator, Rajadorixis, Alankydactylus, Megalocevia, and also Cerastegotops when it can avoid the stun. Trykovenator's stock is definitely on the rise.

LOW TYRANT

The final tier at the Top of the tier list is Low tyrant. Low Tyrant creatures will stay on teams because of investment. They're still useful and can win against other tyrants. But there are better options.

PLATEOREX Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.5

Plateorex is our first Low tyrant. Even though Plateorex does quite well against many creatures in Mid Tyrant, it rarely gets the chance to even face them head-to-head.

SKOONAMETRODON Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.3

Skoonametrodon just keeps hanging in there. It gets slightly better recently with the two flocks dominating High tyrant, but the lack of an OE and a predictable move set leaves this creature hanging out in Low tyrant.

CONCATOLOCH Apex Hybrid. Release Version: 3.4

Concatoloch now sits in the Low Tyrant tier as well after its recent nerf. It's fallen off quite a bit, and truth be told, in the current meta, it's unique, Concatosaurus, does better against a few of the top tyrants. Apex Concatoloch still is quite useful, just nowhere near as dominant as before. Which is fine. This creature had its time in the sun and was the one gatekeeper to a meta shift.

PROTONODON Unique Hybrid. Release Version: 3.8

Protonodon is our first Unique rarity creature on the top of the tier list. It is probably the closest of the Low Tyrants to being in Mid Tyrant. We were torn on this one and more than likely, it could be Mid Tyrant. Protonodon's biggest issue is distraction and sometimes the opponent can use its OE as an advantage to beat it.

SKORPIOSTEGOTOPS Unique Hybrid. Release Version: 3.8

Unique Skorpiostegotops is our next Low Tyrant. Skorpiostegotops is pretty strong, just very outclassed by its Apex. Cerastegotops basically fills the same role, but better. For those players that only care about tournaments, this is a strong alternative to working on its Apex.

ESTEMMENOSUCHUS Unique Non hybrid. Release Version: 3.9

We also have Unique nonhybrid Estemmenosuchus on the Low Tyrant list. Estemmenosuchus is mainly here because of its crazy revenge move. It also punishes the usual swappers that will try to bail out the opponent who doesn't want to lose that creature. This Unique can also hang around and battle if it needs to. Note that Estemmenosuchus is an easy creature to level as well with its availability as a short-range spawn and in the free weekly short-range scent. It's a bargain Low tyrant that's available to all players.

THYLOS INTREPIDUS Unique hybrid. Release Version: 2.18

Unique flock Thylos Intrepidus is still a great swap-in, but not close to what it was before. Thylos Intrepidus rarely gets the chance to swap-in and set up like before or make the opponent fear a swap-out. There are just too many counters for this creature now, and hard counters at that.

CONCATOSAURUS Unique hybrid. Release Version: 3.3

Unique Concatosaurus has increased some in overall power recently, in our opinion. With the big group attacks and solid counter, Concatosaurus has turn 1 options that make it pretty versatile. The resistances are what will hold this Unique back from moving above Low tyrant. But Concatosaurus is definitely an interesting option for those players that already have investment into it.

SINRAPTOR Omega. Release Version: 3.4

Omega Sinraptor takes the final spot on the Low tyrant tier. It does fill more of a niche role now though. With Concatoloch falling off, and eventually Magnaraptor, Sinraptor has almost no use. Flocks and Megalocevia put the final nail in its chances at remaining in the arena in a significant role. Sinraptor does still have a few uses as a closer or a clean up, but so many other creatures play this role better.

NOTABLE MENTIONS

Notable Mentions. These Jurassic World Alive creatures fit niche roles in the meta and certainly have times when they shine. But overall, they only do well occasionally. The notable mentions are:

PLAY THE GAME AS YOU LIKE

Done! The Top of the Tier List for Jurassic World Alive as of update 3.9. We hope you enjoyed it and it helps you. We plan on updating the top of the tier list in the future, once there's enough change to the current one. Please remember that overall, this list is just a guide. It by no means should make you feel a need to change your current creatures. So- What works for you is what you should continue with. Just because a creature falls now doesn't mean it can't climb back up again later. With a steady influx of Apex coming to the game, we're sure we will constantly see change coming to the meta- with creatures coming on and off of teams or climbing and falling off this list.

Don't chase the meta unless you want to as you will get overwhelmed quickly. Just work towards what is easily available or what you like or want.

COMING SOON!

We are also working on a video to work on team building and a guide to help you decide which creatures fit your team. This guide will tell you the basics of what is needed for each team to succeed.

CONCLUSION

Thank you for joining us in exploring the best creatures for the arena in Jurassic World Alive. Check out the video on the Youtube channel as well and let us know any thoughts, questions, or comments you may have.

Indochicyon needs a buff. Glyptosavis makes some sense for why it's not good because its components aren't, but Indochicyon has so much potential to be in the meta because its components have good synergies and can make a very good pair. And it's Indoraptor's hybrid, the ruthless hybrid that stops at nothing to impose fear, so it should be good.
