Rare Tier List- Jurassic World Alive

Eduardo

Updated: Nov 18, 2024

So, I felt like doing some tier lists out of boredom and because I see people constantly asking for them. So, here you go. I started off with the rares because of a certain rare that made a big splash at the recent legendary format, and I felt it was fitting to start there.

CONSIDERATIONS

The rare tier list takes into account how well the rare creature does within the following:

  • A rare-only format

  • A rare + common + omega format

  • A format above the rare rarity

So, without further ado, here is my rare tier list:

Now, let's talk about why some creatures landed where they did.

TOP DOG

Nodosaurus. Rare Nonhybrid. Release version 1.1

In every rarity, the top dog of each of those rarities has a multiplier, except for Nodosaurus, who only has x1 attacks. However, the truth is it doesn't need one. If you can slowly chip down your opponent and outlast them, multipliers don't matter. They would help in some scenarios like against other walls, but other walls sometimes can't break through. My favorite example is Plateopikeasaur, who eventually (like 30 turns later) loses to Nodosaurus. And when you can stalemate Alankylodactylus and bring both Compsovenator and Nominrex to their knees, give the credit where credit is due.

CREAM OF THE CROP

Albertosaurus. Rare Nonhybrid. Release version 2.8

Albertosaurus has stood the test of time. Killer Instinct losing the delay also majorly helps out as well. Albertosaurus has a better time off in an omega format where Sinraptor is more lethal than Nodosaurus (however Nodosaurus basically walls out any non-fierce omega). But Albertosaurus' revenge kills can really be useful off that high attack stat. And with those resistances, it can be a pain to deal with. Albertosaurus also performs well outside of rares.

Wuerhosaurus. Rare Nonhybrid. Release version 1.1

Thagomizer paired with the counter is a dangerous combination. With good bulk and decent damage, you need to resist vulnerability to walk away safely.

Tenontosaurus. Rare Nonhybrid. Release version 1.1

Another counter paired with rampage intervention and a healing move is tough to beat, especially when you have solid stats to start. Even Albertosaurus can't break through this rare. However, omegas can give it issues and it will start to shake as more rarities are added.

ROCK SOLID

Ankylocodon. Rare Hybrid (Ankylosaurus Gen 2 + Ophiacodon). Release version 1.3

With its new impact and other tools at its disposal, removing it is quite a challenge, especially when it packs those resistances. If only it did a bit more damage.

Argentinosaurus. Rare Nonhybrid. Release version 1.1

The critical damage sauropod is back, and it does damage. With the critical damage multiplier and a setup with extended critical strike, you have a group devastation ready to go. Or just skip the setup and fire off the rampage. Either way, getting rid of this rare before it deletes your whole team will not be easy.

Baryonyx gen 2. Rare Nonhybrid. Release version 1.2

With its new berserk decimation and resistances, Baryonyx gen 2 is one of, if not the best closer in the rare format. It can even get around those pesky flocks. And with that critical damage increase, pray it doesn't get that crit.

Marsupial Lion. Rare Nonhybrid. Release version 1.7

With devouring takedown and the afflicting counter, this pouched predator is going to be a menace, especially with its new critical multiplier as well as high base critical chance. Removing it with devouring takedown will also be a challenge. The only thing holding this marsupial back in skill is its speed stat.

Preondactylus. Rare Nonhybrid. Release version 2.14

With high speed and stuck landing, Preondactylus can see success in a rare-only format as well as an omega format. It does decent damage, but it is quite frail and now easy Nodosaurus bait.

RARE RAPTOR PACK

Rare Raptor Pack: Charlie, Delta, Echo. Rare Nonhybrids. Release version 1.2

These 3 raptors I wanted to mention because they were so close to being good, but the additional boosting effects for Echo and Charlie happens after they attack with their impact and pounce respectively. And Delta losing speed hurt as well. So close to being good yet so far.

DISCUSS!

Thanks for reading. If you have any questions, I'm always down to discuss and I will hopefully have another one of these up soon.

This is a great help to someone new to the game like me, with so many dinosaurs its been very overwhelming for me to understand whats actually good. Would you consider doing other tier lists for the other rarities?

How to make Irritator good 101:

Give it a counter

Pretty much everything in "Grasping At Straws" and below should get a buff. Even if it's small it'll be better than nothing.

Thor isn't the worst unique. No I'm not biased because I use it or anything but there's a few other contenders for the worst unique creature. Stygidaryx, Scorpios Rex Gen 3, and Smilonemys come to mind. Indotaurus, Compsocaulus, and Antarctovenator are also contenders.
