UNIQUE Tier List- Jurassic World Alive

Eduardo

Howdy everyone. I know it's been a little bit since the last tier list, but I'm back and it's time to get into one that I'm sure a few people will be invested in. Uniques were the original endgame goal of JWA, and for some it's no different. With omega and apex creatures being added, they've seen a bit of a drop, but they're still really good investments for both tournaments and the arena.

This list here will help you better decide on which uniques are better investments overall. So with that out of the way, let's get on into it.

Now, let's talk about why some creatures landed where they did.

TIED FOR FIRST

Concatosaurus. Unique hybrid. Release version 3.3

Concatosaurus: It heals, heals, and heals some more. It can cleanse itself, nullify, increase armor, break shields, and do everything. Even with those mediocre resistances, it still manages to reach it up to here. And, you can’t swap out of it either because it heals some more. It is just so frustrating to deal with because it slowly eats away at you and can sweep a team that isn’t able to break through.

Protonodon. Unique hybrid. Release version 3.8

Protonodon: While it can't heal as much, Protonodon has one thing: a ton of offense. It can slow, shield, and use Instant Fierce Rampage to deadly effect. Its big weakness is distraction to block its healing, which is really on cunnings, which struggle when it throws up shields and slows them down. You also have one of the best moves in the game with Instant Fierce Rampage at your disposal. You don’t want to swap on it either with On Escape Impact, which also pins. And on top of that, resistances to fierce abilities and solid bulk and offensive stats help Protonodon dominate the meta. While debatable, I personally place Protonodon as the best unique in the game.

TOP TIER

Dsungascorpios: Unique hybrid. Release version 2.19

Dsungascorpios does what it always does. Traps opponents and removes them with enfeebling rampage. It has one of the strongest counters in the game, cleansing itself of all negative effects. This also grants it some form of pin immunity against creatures that have attacking on escapes. It does what it always does and does it to great effect.

Estemmenosuchus: Unique nonhybrid. Release version 3.9

Estemmenosuchus is one of the newest uniques that takes advantage of the anti-healing abilities recently added, and it does this to great effect. Its counter is great at slowly eating away at these tanks that rely on these healing abilities while also taking on many fierce creatures with its cunning abilities. On top of that, cunning resilient strike is one if the best strikes in the game, allowing Estemmenosuchus to gain an edge in many matchups. However, on revenge, this Permian terror is a monster as it afflicts, traps, reduces healing, and inflicts vulnerability BEFORE attacking with priority, allowing it to deal big damage and potentially pick up some one-hit KOs.

Grypolyth: Unique hybrid. Release version 1.5

Grypolyth is pretty well established in the unique meta. It does big damage with its bleeding and rending abilities and can trap opponents in with No Escape Strike. It can safely swap in with Swap in Invincibility. The resistances help it tank fierce hits while the shields wall out cunnings.

Pantherator: Unique hybrid. Release version 3.2

Pantherator can be a real pain in the butt. Like Panthera B, it walls out all fierce and does a number on cunnings. It also can deal with resilients thanks to Shredding Wound as well as the swap also dealing a bit of bleed as well. And if you want to increase your armor or shield in front of Pantherator, make sure you don’t hit it because it’ll nullify the effects with Nullifying Piercing Counter, allowing moves like Floating Dual Claw to deal good damage. Evasive Hunt is one of the best moves in the game, and Hunt on Escape is just as deadly. The main thing keeping Pantherator in line is the lack of a turn 1 option.

Sarcomantarx: Unique hybrid. Release version 3.8

Sarcomantarx is the newest unique on this list, and yet it is one of the strongest by far. Great stats and decent resistances are a good start, but the moveset is what elevates this unique. Evasive Rampage can be frustrating to deal with, but Group Critical Wounding Impact is wild. Especially when it has a cooldown of 1 turn. But the real kicker and what allows Sarcomantarx to reside in this tier is Concuss. This move is wild, buying it a free turn against basically everything apart from Ovylenken. We still have yet to really see it perform, but I am sure it’ll make a big impact. I will say that I am concerned about its lack of stun resistance, but I don’t think it’ll lose too much ground without it.

Skorpiostegotops: Unique hybrid. Release version 3.8

Skorpiostegotops is just a great unique. It has great stats and good resistances. However, the moveset is what makes it really stand above the rest. Dimodactylus is already super strong with swap in armor wound, but Skorpiostegotops has more hp and more armor, allowing it to better soak up those hits. And like Dimodactylus, it can cleanse the pin with Cleansing Wounding Impact on turn 1. This allows it to fire off a Breaking Impact and run to swap away and repeat this process all over again. It’s hard to slow this thing down with its Medium Nullifying Counter blocking many of the top unique buffs as they are normally paired up with attacks. And if you can be stunned, Greater Stunning Rampage is always a great option for Skorpiostegotops to buy a turn or to just punch a hole.

Thylos Intrepidus: Unique hybrid. Release version 3.10

Thylos is pretty easy to understand. Swap in, then kill whatever comes in with either Dual Rending Attack or, if they resist rend, Prowl and either swap away or fire off a Wounding Devouring Rampage. This insane kit is what keeps Thylos relevant as the resistances aren’t anything all too special, especially nothing to deal with stun. And if you come across something with a great deal of rend resistance or any cunning that hard-walls fierce like Poukandactylus, Thylos will really struggle. Thylos is a very “all or nothing” unique. However, with a kit like that, it deserves a spot up here

HIGH TIER

Giganspinoceratops: Unique hybrid. Release version 3.4

Gigantspinosaurus is stupid, so it's unique should be stupid too right? Well, not exactly. It's insanely strong, but only just a bit above its epic parent. It's swap in is worse as is the counter, but it's got a stronger kit and still eats away at anything that can't break it.

Nomingia: Unique nonhybrid. Release version 3.2

This cunning does a ton of damage, but it's held back by being a gambler. If you hit the crit, you blow up something. If you miss it, the opponent can use that to take you down. But even if you miss the crit, you can still dodge and return fire with that impact counter.

Pterovexus: Unique hybrid. Release version 1.6

This is one of the more underestimated uniques. It's not hitting hard or tanking hits. Rather, it's a team player and abuses the brand new broken on escapes added over the months. Concatosaurus with on escape heal, Protonodon with impact on escape, Trykosaurus with extreme obstruction, Thylos with its on escape, Skorpiostegotops, Nomingia, Grypolyth, and so on. And that's not including the Apex, who also love Pterovexus. You can get a hunt boost for Sah, a reinforce and swap in for Gryganyx and Monolomoth, rejuvenation for Concatoloch, Magnaraptor's on escape and so on. It's not bad in a 1v1 scenario scenario, but this is what it shines at.

Trykosaurus: Unique hybrid. Release version 1.1

Trykosaurus went from one of the worst uniques to one of the best. It's got a great on escape with devouring abilities to keep it going. Taunting Bulwark keeps it around and lets it soak up hits while also dishing out big damage with the counter. It's a bit slow however and can be stunned and trapped, but it's something you must account for and respect in a unique format.

THE WORST

Compsocaulus: Unique hybrid. Release version 2.7

It's pretty sad that, even after a buff, this is still the worst unique in the game. It has low output, terrible resistances, mediocre stats, and a poor moveset. Its strongest attack is a slightly better Pounce while its second best attack is a Distracting Impact that is worse off than all the other distracting impacts in the game. Hop and Mock doesn't offer much and Cunning Strike is just there. It doesn't even get anything great from Compsognathus like stun immunity, Alert the Flock, or Alert Swarm. It, in all honesty, is worse than Compsognathus itself. I would say this unique needs a buff, but seeing as it just got one, I am doubtful it'll ever get one again.

DISCUSS!

So that's the unique list. If you have any questions about any of the rankings and why some creatures aren't as high, feel free to ask and/or message me and I'll respond as soon as I can. I'm always up for discussion. Thanks for tuning in.
