Hello everyone! A new patch has dropped and with that comes new creatures, new abilities, new moves, and creature buffs. As with most of these as of late, this is probably not everything they plan to release this patch. In fact it’s probably less than half of what they have in store. But for now, let’s get into what they have released, and with all of these release note articles, everything in here is subject to change.
NEW CREATURES
SAURORNITHOLESTES (Common)

Stats:
HP: 3500
Attack: 1600
Speed: 131
Armor: 0%
Crit Chance: 25%
Critical Multiplier: 125%
Resistances:
25% distraction resistance
33% bleed resistance
Moves:
Cunning Strike
Dodging Shriek: Priority. Precise. Self: 75% to dodge 67% damage 2 turns 4 attacks. Target All Opponents: Remove increased damage. Reduce Healing 25% 2 turns 2 attacks. Attack x1 bypass absorb. Cooldown 2.
Counter Critical Distraction: Increase crit chance 2 turns 4 attacks by 50%. Reduce attacker damage 2 turns 4 attacks.
Saurornitholestes is looking to be a solid addition to the Common rarity with high speed and a decent kit. The one thing holding it back is the lack of multipliers. However, that counter is incredibly strong, and with it, you can take on some top threats. For starters, every Common fierce is doomed because when they start to get hit with the counter, you just take no damage. Even some top Omegas like Yutyrannus and maybe even Sinraptor have to watch out for this Common reducing their damage to 0. As for other Commons, you can pick off Phorusracos or Diplocaulus as well as being able to reduce Iguanodon’s healing, however Iguanodon does have distraction resistance and probably wins out in the end. The resistances aren’t the best, but I can still see success for Saurornitholestes.
SAUROLYTH (Epic)

Stats:
HP: 3700
Attack: 1600
Speed: 131
Armor: 10%
Crit Chance: 25%
Critical Multiplier: 125%
Resistances:
33% stun resistance
50% pin resistance
50% distraction resistance
33% bleed resistance
100% crit reduction resistance
Moves:
Ferocious Shielded Heal
Cunning Rampage
Dodging Shriek
Binding Impact
Critical Counter Distraction
Saurolyth has some pretty good stats for an Epic, especially with that 131 speed stat and the counter it gained from Saurornitholestes. You also have a couple turn 1 options to choose from with the 131 speed stat. However, without a good test run of course, I’m not so sure about its place in the epic meta as it doesn’t seem to match up super well into the top threats. While she lacks distraction resistance, Brunette’s shields as well as cleansing formation can become an issue for Saurolyth. Blond can output so much damage as can Gigantspinosaurus. And if you even touch Kentrosaurus, you die. Megistotherium will one shot you and Sarcorixis, Stegoceratops, and Sinoceratops will probably stun you into oblivion. But that’s just off first impressions. Maybe this Epic will find a role it can play very well. And it’s not bad by any means. I just don’t think it’ll be a mainstay like how Deinotops instantly rose to become a top Epic.
CERANOSAURUS (Apex)

Stats:
HP: 5850
Attack: 1550
Speed: 127
Armor: 25%
Crit Chance: 20%
Critical Multiplier: 125%
Resistances
100% stun resistance
100% pin resistance
33% rend resistance
75% distraction resistance
33% bleed resistance
75% vulnerability resistance
75% slow resistance
50% crit reduction resistance
Moves:
Instant Resilient Shielded Strike
Instant Blighted Dodge Impact: Basically the same thing that Koolasuchus has but with priority and you now cleanse bleed
Crested Escape: Highest Attack Opponent: Reduce damage 100% 2 turns 4 attacks. Reduce speed 50% 2 turns. Attack x2. Self: Automatic Swap. Cooldown 2 Delay 1.
Afflicting Nullification: Highest Damage: Nullify all effects. Affliction 50% 2 turns. Reduce damage and armor 2 turns 4 attacks. Cooldown 1.
Precise Group Counter
Swap in Afflict and Dodge: Highest Damage: Afflict 50% 2 turns 4 attacks. Vulnerable 50% 2 turns 4 attacks. Pin 2 turns. Self: 75% Dodge 67% damage 1 turn 2 attacks. Lockdown 2 turns.
So Rebel finally got his Apex, and unlike Spinotops, this one is just fine. You can’t barrel through teams. You can’t one shot other top creatures at over 8,000 hp. You play the long game, which isn’t too great. The kit is good and anything that cannot break it will suffer. But the problem is that you lack an on escape, and creatures can take advantage of this by just swapping into something that can win. Like Ampelorex can swap in and just wall you out while also breaking through your defenses. Mastodontosaurus also just walls you out. Being a fierce-resilient is the best thing you can be in the meta, and if you cannot break through or do something unique that is also worth using, you have no place. Ceranosaurus cannot compete with a lot of the healing and with all these fierce-resilients. When you reduce healing, you cannot break through the armor and when you go for your bigger attacks or defensive options, you cannot stop the heals. And while healing on Ceranosaurus could be a fix, you also have to change the basic attack and allow ways to avoid infinite mirror matches, and it just becomes a mess. While Spinotops is an instant pick, Ceranosaurus is far more niche and I would personally hold onto the Rebel DNA and use it on Rebel himself.
CREATURE BUFFS
DILOZORION (Apex)

Stat Changes:
Speed: 127 ➡️ 130
Moveset changes:
Group Wiley Strike: Now decreases attack 50% 1 turn 2 attacks and crit chance 100% 1 turn 2 attacks
Swap in Invincibility ➡️ Swap in Weakening Dodge
Swap in Weakening Dodge: Self: Lockdown 2 turns. 75% dodge 67% damage 2 turns 4 attacks. Highest Attack: Affliction 25% 2 turns. Reduce attack 50% 2 turns 4 attacks. Reduce speed 25% 2 turns.
Dilorizon has been in an awkward spot. It's not at the top of the meta, but it's not bad either. The problem again is that it's got to deal with fierce-resilient creatures as well as with another nullifier and another revenge killer: Magnaraptor and Nominrex respectively. Magnaraptor can nullify and bypass armor turn one with magna impact while Nominrex can generally output far more damage. So it's in an awkward position. But now it's faster than Nominrex while also being able to swap in and take out Magnaraptor. That being said, I'm not sure this is going to make it a major threat. As with Ceranosaurus, Dilorizon is a cunning-resilient that has to fight an uphill battle vs fierce resilient, and with the 3 best creatures in the game being fierce-resilient, I feel it won't perform as well. It's still an improvement, but I'm not sure if it's enough.
MEGALOCEVIA (Apex)

Stat Changes:
Stun resistance 100% ➡️ 75%
Pin resistance 0% ➡️ 50%
Vulnerability resistance 75%➡️ 50%
Moveset Changes:
Added Impact on Escape
Removed Swap in Devouring Strike
Revenge Instinct: Now Shield 50% added to revenge. Cleanse all effects on revenge. Devour heal 60% over 3 turns added on revenge.
Precise Revenge: On revenge now deals 2.5x damage and breaks shields and bypasses armor.
I have mixed feelings on this change. The pin resistance is great, but I don’t like the loss of the other resistances even though stun isn’t too relevant. I feel like it wasn’t necessary to do that. But overall, with the buffs to its moveset, this makes Megalocevia incredibly scary. I know many people are also thinking about the loss of the swap, which stinks, but it allows Megalocevia to possibly get out of there right away if needed in case a counter were to come in and take it after it had swapped in. These changes are meant to define it as a pure revenge killer. And now, you have options to pick from. You can either go on the defense or offense. With revenge instinct, you get the defensive benefits of shields and devouring heal while with precise revenge, you can how break through top threats like Mastodontosaurus and Ampelorex. And speaking of those two, you now can trap them with your new on escape. This buff also makes Albertocevia much better. Usually on revenge you want to use instant ferocious revenge. But now you have a reason to use precise revenge outside of flocks because you can now break through armor and shields. Overall, this is a net buff and I think this could help Megalocevia make a resurgence and should be the death of all current flocks.
BRUNETTE (Epic)

Brunette is already like the 3rd best Epic and for sure in the top 5. It was already doing great. However now it has priority whenever it wants for alert devouring impact. So now you can just heal up by 150% instantly when threatened, which could be really useful after a cleansing formation. This is a huge way around Panthera as well as a better reason to hold onto Brunette for later. Brunette probably isn't surpassing Blonde and Gigantspinosaurus, but it's even more threatening.
FINAL THOUGHTS
So that should be everything. Like I said, that’s probably less than half of what they plan on releasing for now as well as the fact that any and all of this is subject to change. Based off first impressions, it seems like most of the new additions won’t be as oppressive as the last two patches. However, those are my initial thoughts. As always, thank you for reading and thank you Ludia for allowing me to cover this early and get that information out ASAPossible. Happy Playing! Thanks for reading and I will see you all later.
